What if a human being was a pen?

What if a human being was a pen?

(Let us recall old fountain pens, with ink)

How would that make life’s writing differ then?

Let’s miss a few words out and have a think.

We’d need some preparations for a start,

To fill the pen the ink must first be bought.

To fill it and not spill it is an art –

Have blotters ready, so the worst is caught!

So many ways is readiness achieved

By pens and human beings for their tasks,

And without writing words, how’s life perceived?

How can we answer questions that life asks?

Unplanned-for human life and hope must not

End-up in chance’s lap – leaving a blot.
